Pre and Post constriction termite
Termite control and treatments can be done in various phases. So if you are planning to construct a house and want to ensure that your property does not get infested at least for 10 more years, then you can go for pre-construction termite control services and do pre-construction termite treatments. But if your house is already built and you think you need termite treatments then there are post-construction termite control services available. But if none is applicable and when you don’t know whether you have termite infestation or not then you don’t need to be worried about. But certainly look for the symptom of infestation. Because when you know there are infestations, things can be controlled because treatments are available.

Cockroaches have been around for millions of years, evolving into some of the most adaptable pests on Earth. There are approximately 4,500 living species of cockroaches in the world. But only few of them found in urban areas. Cockroaches are omnivorous. Cockroaches are commonly found in buildings, restaurants and homes because they prefer warm environments close to food and water. Unfortunately, cockroaches can cause allergies and trigger asthma attacks, especially in children. They can also spread nearly 33 different kinds of bacteria. The temperature in India is suitable for cockroach breeding. Here at MMR Pest Control, we provide a hassle free cockroach pest control services at affordable rates.
Cockroach Pest Control-Baiting Treatment (Herbal Gel treatment)
Herbal gel pest control technique is emerging as a reliable alternative control method that produces maximum efficacy against target insects and minimal impact on human activity.
Method of Cockroach herbal gel treatment :
Minute amount of Herbal Gel is applied at strategic locations with the help of a syringe. Cockroaches are mostly in the kitchen and pantries and we concentrate on these areas, although the Gel is applied in the toilet and other entire premises. The method of application of Herbal Gel is such that it is inaccessible to infants pets. Cockroach pest control gel treatment is 100% safe for kids.
How Herbal Gel Works :
Herbal Gel has an edible product especially attractive to cockroaches. Herbal Gel has cascading effect. Once some cockroaches have eaten herbal gel they contaminate other cockroaches also and the result is better control over the population of cockroaches. This leads to quick eradication and no re-invasion. Herbal Gel can be applied to sensitive areas such as electrical control boxes, kitchen appliances, computers etc. Any insecticide or aerosol sprayed on gel can reduce the efficacy of herbal gel.
Benefits of Cockroach Pest Control Herbal Gel treatment:
- No smell
- Can be applied in sensitive areas such as kitchen appliances, computers, electrical control boards, record rooms etc. as it contain low dosage of active ingredient.
- No need to leave the premises during or after treatment.
- No need to empty drawers or cover up food or do any special preparations prior to the treatment.
Not a repellent but an attractant –
This bait contains insect growth regulator as active ingredient which has got effect on specific species of insects like cockroaches. This active ingredient is mixed with feeding stimulants like food attractants and pheromones specialized chemicals generated by the insects to identify it from the other insects.
Cockroach Pest Control – Spray Treatment:
Before The Treatment:
All utensils, containers, raw and cooked food should be removed from the kitchen (or from the area for making tea etc. in offices) and kept on the dining table or in the middle of the drawing or some other room. They should be covered with an old bed sheets or newspapers so that the insecticide does not accidentally fall on them.
The insecticide reacts with plastic and silver. Hence all plastic and silver articles should be kept away under cover. Please cover all the plastic articles such as TV, Audio Systems, and Telephone Instruments etc.
During the Treatment:
Do not close the windows. Contrary to popular belief, cockroaches do not die by inhaling the vapour of the insecticide. They die when they come in contact with the insecticide. Keeping the windows closed is harmful for the persons who are inside the premises at the time of treatment.
After the Treatment:
After the treatment, leave the place undisturbed for about two hours. After two hours wipe the surfaces which have been sprayed with our insecticide, with a dry cloth only. Do not wash those surfaces for about two days. Thereby the residual effect of the insecticide will not be reduced.

Spider is the most dangerous eight legged creature that walks the face of the earth. Who does not know what a spider is capable of? Naught one, but the most ignorant. It can hang from the ceiling, fall in your soup, and creep on your bed and under the blanket. It can crawl on your skin and tickle you all the way, or hide in your closet, well hidden during the day. Spider has long fangs and is a venomous bugger; it is aggressive and will readily attack you, if it, you bother. Spiders are one of the thoroughly studied animals in the scientific world. There are about 40,000 described species (Wikipedia) spread into 109 families worldwide; in India, there are 59 described Families (Silwal, Molur and Biswas, 2005). In here, only 19 commonest families seen in and around India have been listed.

There are more than 10,000 known species of ants living throughout the world. Ants can be identified by the constriction between the abdomen and thorax that looks like a narrow waist. Their bodies are covered with a hard armor called the exoskeleton. Most ants are either red or black in color and length can be anywhere from 1/3″ to 1/2″. Like other insects, they have six legs; each with three joints. Ants have large heads with compound eyes, elbowed antennae, and powerful jaws.
There are three types of adult ants living in the colony: the queen, female ants, and male ants. Queen ants are the largest ants in the colony. They have wings and their purpose is to lay eggs. The queens can live up to 30 years. Depending on the ant species and the nest community size, there may be one or more queens in the colony.
Female ants are smaller than the queen, wingless and sterile. Females result from fertilized eggs and can live up to three years. Known as workers or soldiers, female ants care for the eggs, tend to the larva, build and repair the nest, forage for food, and protect the colony.
Male ants develop from unfertilized eggs. Also called drones, male ants have wings and are fertile to mate with the queen. Male ants are much smaller than females and have longer antennae. The males only emerge from the colony for one day in order to mate. They usually die 10-14 days after mating.
Ant Reproduction
The ant life cycle has four stages of development: egg, larva, pupa and adult. The queen lays the eggs, which will hatch into larvae in a couple of days. The helpless larva are fed and groomed by the worker ants until they pass through the pupal stage. In a little more than a week, an adult ant will emerge and the metamorphosis is complete.
Ant Habitat Facts
Ants are social insects that live in structured nest communities throughout the world. The species determines their ant habitat – whether they live underground, in mounds built at ground level, in wood structures or in plants or trees. Soil and plant matter are typically used to construct the nests.
In colder regions, ants will become inactive during the winter months. In warmer temperatures and climates, ants continue to be active.

The common house gecko (Hemidactylus frenatus) (not to be confused with the Mediterranean species Hemidactylus turcicus known as Mediterranean house gecko), is a gecko native of Southeast Asia. It is also known as the Pacific house gecko, the Asian house gecko, wall gecko, house lizard, or moon lizard.
Most geckos are nocturnal, hiding during the day and foraging for insects at night. They can be seen climbing walls of houses and other buildings in search of insects attracted to porch lights and is immediately recognisable by its characteristic chirp.
They grow to a length of between 75–150 mm (3–6 in), and live for about 5 years. These small geckos are non-venomous and not harmful to humans. Medium to large geckos may bite if distressed; however, their bite can pierce skin but most medium to large geckos are docile. A tropical gecko, Hemidactylus frenatus thrives in warm, humid areas where it can crawl around on rotting wood in search of the insects it eats, as well as within urban landscapes. The animal is very adaptable and may prey on insects and spiders, displacing other gecko species which are less robust or behaviourally aggressive.

World mosquito day is celebrated annually on August 20. It is a commemoration of a British doctor, Sir Ronald Ross’s discovery in 1897 that ‘female mosquitoes transmit malaria between humans’. The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine organizes world mosquito day celebrations every year, since the 1930s.
Mosquitoes are one of the deadliest animals in the world. Their ability to carry and spread diseases to humans causes millions of deaths every year. There are several different mosquitoes that can carry many different diseases. Aedes, Anopheles, Culex mosquitoes act as vectors (living organisms that can transmit infectious diseases between humans or from animals to humans) for the following diseases-
Aedes: Chikungunya, Dengue fever, Lymphatic filariasis, Rift Valley fever, Yellow fever, Zika
Anopheles: Malaria, Lymphatic filariasis (in Africa)
Culex: Japanese encephalitis, Lymphatic filariasis, West Nile fever
In the family, having a soon-to-be mom, protecting the unborn child takes precedence over everything else. Making sure the expectant mother takes her vitamins, and goes for routine health checkups, baby-proofing the house, and learning about things related to your health and your baby’s, are all part of the journey to motherhood.
While researching to prepare for your big day, there’s one thing that you must pay special heed to: mosquito-borne diseases and how to protect yourself and your unborn baby from them.
Here are five of the most dangerous diseases spread by mosquitoes:
- Chikungunya
While chikungunya is not always fatal, its symptoms – fever, joint swelling or pain, headaches, muscle pain – can be severe and incapacitating. The disease mostly affects the frail, such as senior citizens, babies and those with lifestyle diseases such as diabetes. Currently, there is no vaccine for its prevention, nor any sure-shot cure. All one can do is treat the symptoms.
- Yellow fever
This is another disease with no cure, though a vaccine is available, so ask your pediatrician. Symptoms such as headaches, muscle and joint pain, fever with chills, and loss of appetite appear about a week after exposure, which means you won’t even know you’re ill until 3-6 days after being infected. The cure includes management of the symptoms and strengthening the immune system.
- Dengue
Dengue is a debilitating disease. Incidences have increased dramatically around the globe. The worst thing about it is that patients can be asymptomatic – meaning it’s hard to detect without a blood test. Those who do have symptoms complain, for the most part, about high fever, skin rash, and pain behind the eyes. The incubation period is 4-7 days after the mosquito bite. There is no vaccination and the cure requires hospitalization and (in severe cases) blood transfusion followed by lots of rest and a liquid diet for a spell.
- Malaria
Malaria is one of the most common mosquito-borne diseases. Since it exhibits very flu-like symptoms, it can be hard to distinguish from the common flu. The disease manifests within 10 days to a month after infection. Some regions such as Europe have developed a vaccine, though India does not have one yet. Treatment is symptomatic and aims at eliminating the virus from the bloodstream.
- Zika
Zika is caused by a virus carried by mosquitoes. The incubation period is not known but it’s believed to be very short – just a few days. The World Health Organization confirms that if a pregnant woman is infected, it could cause congenital brain abnormalities in the baby. There is no vaccine for Zika and treatment is only symptomatic.
Prevention is always better than cure, and with the MMR Pest control you can rest assured you and your unborn child are well-protected.

Housefly is a major domestic, medical, and veterinary pest that causes irritation, spoils food, and acts as a vector for many pathogenic organisms. During wars, housefly-associated typhoid fever had killed more soldiers than the enemy bullets.(1) Fly control is still an important public health measure in the 21st century.
Fly problem is an important concern internationally wherever poultry farming is an important economic activity. Chemical control methods have shown reduction in fly density and the incidence of fly-associated morbidities in various countries.(2–5) However, the chemical control for a routine long-term use can lead to the development of insecticide resistance. For effective management of the resistant populations, changing insecticides and application of unrelated insecticide, together with appropriate environmental sanitation measures, are necessary to keep the fly population under check.(6–8)
House fly (Musca domestica)
Most common types of house fly in a Indian household. They are more popular as carriers of diseases. House flies can survive in any environment to grow to large numbers. The Indian house fly can savor any food ranging from humans to pets to animals to rotten food and even faces. This habit makes them the deadliest pests on earth compared to mosquitoes.
House Fly Life Cycle
The growth of the house flies from egg to adult has less duration. Usually, breeding happens on decayed vegetable matter. For example, dustbins.
The female house fly lays more than 120 eggs in one batch. They can hatch in the duration of eight to 72 hours. The hatched out larvae takes a duration of three to sixty days to become a pupae. And the next stage of an adult takes three to 28 days.
In your house, the house fly rests on ceilings, floors and walls. In the exterior part of the home, they rest on fences, rubbish bins, compost heaps and on plants. They can feed at any time of the day, In the night, they take care to position themselves near food resources.
Bluebottle fly (Calliphora vomitoria)
This house fly has another name, Blow fly. Usually you can see it hovering on dustbins. They feed on pet faeces and dead animals. Their name evokes fear because their bodies harbour disease causing organisms. They take a very small duration of seven to twelve days to become mature adults. During the time of breeding, they feed on animal products such as meat and dead carcasses.
Fruit fly (Drosophila species)
As the name suggests, the favorite food of fruit fly is fruits and fermenting residue places. Even this winged creature find mention among the common types of house fly in India. They are also found in fruit orchards, vegetable gardens and breweries.
Fruit fly life cycle
They survive on rotten fruits, unclean dishes and drains. They can develop to an adult in seven to thirty days. Usually the fruit fly lifespan comes to two to nine weeks. They can complete their entire development to an adult in less than one week. But the conditions have to be favorable.
Drain fly (Psychodidae)
The title indicates their survival patterns. Their other names are sewage fly, moth fly and drain fly. They usually lay eggs on sewage and drainage beds. Their larvae feed on drainage.
Drain Fly Life Span
The eggs hatch in the one to six days. The mature process of the larvae is ten to fifty days. And pupae, takes one to three days to mature to an adult.
Flesh fly (Family – Sarcophagidae)
Flesh Fly life cycle has a duration of two to four weeks. The live larvae gets deposited on rotten fish, meat or even animal faeces. The entire environment of growth happens in decaying matter. But yes, they can also feed on animal and human foods. These points make the flesh fly a dangerous threat to human health.

Rats are thin-tailed, medium-size rodents that originated in Asia and Australia but are now found all over the world. “True rats” are members of the genus Rattus, but other rodent genera are also referred to as rats and share many of the same characteristics. Rats differentiate from mice by being larger, with longer, thinner bodies and long legs.
Size
According to the Integrated Taxonomic Information System (ITIS) there are more than 60 species of rat, which means they come in all sizes. They are typically 5 inches (12 centimeters), or longer, according to Encyclopedia Britannica. The largest species is the Bosavi woolly rat, which was discovered in 2009 in the rainforest of Papua New Guinea (and doesn’t have a scientific name yet). It is about the size of a cat — 32.2 inches (82 cm) from nose to tail and weighs around 3.3 lbs. (1.5 kilograms), according to CNN. One of the smallest rats is Osgood’s Vietnamese rat. It is typically 5 to 7 inches (12 to 17 cm) long.
According to the Australian Broadcasting Corp., male rats are called bucks; females are does. Infants are called pups or kittens. A group of rats is called a mischief.
The brown and the house rat are the most common rats in the world because they have taken boats to every country over the past few centuries. House rats typically like warmer climates, while brown rats live in temperate climates. They typically live anywhere humans live. Many rat species also live in trees.
Habits
Overall, rats live to forage and mate. Most rats are nocturnal, though the brown rat is often awake day or night.
Rats usually stick together in groups called packs. New packs are formed when a male and female go off on their own and nest in an area that doesn’t already contain a pack. Brown rats are usually led by the largest male in the pack. Other rats may have several dominant males or females in a pack.
Diet
Rats are omnivores, but many prefer meat when they can get it. House and brown rats usually use humans for their primary food source. They will scavenge through trash or eat any food that is left unprotected.
Rats have also been known to eat grain or kill insects, water creatures such as snails, fish and mussels, small birds, mammals and reptiles for food. Other rats, such as the Sulawesi white-tailed rat and Hoffman’s rat, prefer vegetarian fair such as seed and fruits, according to Encyclopedia Britannica.
Offspring
Before their offspring are born, rats build nests from any material that can be foraged from the area, including branches, grass, trash and paper. These nests are usually built in crevices, in rotting trees or in buildings.
Rats, generally, are baby-making machines. Female rats can mate around 500 times in a six-hour period and brown rats can produce up to 2,000 offspring in a year, according to Discover Magazine. Brown rats can have up to 22 young at once, though eight or nine is more the average. Tropical rats tend to only have one to six babies at once.
After a gestation period of 21 to 26 days, babies that weigh only around 6 to 8 grams (.21 to .28 ounces) are born, according to the American Fancy Rat and Mouse Association. By the age of three months, the brown rat is ready to reproduce. Rats typically live around two or three years. Most house rats — 91 to 97 percent — die within their first year of life
Amazing Facts about the Rat
- Rats take care of injured and sick rats in their group.
- Without companionship rats tend to become lonely and depressed.
- Rats have excellent memories. Once they learn a navigation route, they won’t forget it.
- When happy, rats have been observed to chatter or grind their teeth. This is often accompanied by vibrating eyes.
- Rats make happy “laughter” sounds when they play.
- Rats succumb to peer-pressure, just like humans. Brown rats are prone to disregard personal experiences in order to copy the behavior of their peers. The urge to conform is so strong that they will even choose to eat unpalatable food if they are in the company of other rats who are eating it.
- Although very curious animals, rats are also shy, and prefer to run away than confront a potential threat.Rats are extremely clean animals, spending several hours every day grooming themselves and their group members. They are less likely than cats or dogs to catch and transmit parasites and viruses.
- A rat can go longer than a camel without having a drink of water.
- Rats’ tails help them to balance, communicate and regulate their body temperature.
- The rat is the first of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac. People born in this year are thought to possess characteristics which are associated with rats, namely: creativity, intelligence, honesty, ambition and generosity.

Bedbugs are small, oval, brownish insects that live on the blood of animals or humans. Adult bedbugs have flat bodies about the size of an apple seed. After feeding, however, their bodies swell and are a reddish color. Bedbugs do not fly, but they can move quickly over floors, walls, and ceilings. Female bedbugs may lay hundreds of eggs, each of which is about the size of a speck of dust, over a lifetime. Immature bedbugs, called nymphs, shed their skins five times before reaching maturity and require a meal of blood before each shedding. Under favorable conditions the bugs can develop fully in as little as a month and produce three or more generations per year.
Although they are a nuisance, they are not thought to transmit diseases.
Where Bed Bugs Hide
Bedbugs may enter your home undetected through luggage, clothing, used beds and couches, and other items. Their flattened bodies make it possible for them to fit into tiny spaces, about the width of a credit card. Bedbugs do not have nests like ants or bees, but tend to live in groups in hiding places. Their initial hiding places are typically in mattresses, box springs, bed frames, and headboards where they have easy access to people to bite in the night. Over time, however, they may scatter through the bedroom, moving into any crevice or protected location. They may also spread to nearby rooms or apartments. Because bedbugs live solely on blood, having them in your home is not a sign of dirtiness. You are as likely to find them in immaculate homes and hotel rooms as in filthy ones.
When Bedbugs Bite
Bedbugs are active mainly at night and usually bite people while they are sleeping. They feed by piercing the skin and withdrawing blood through an elongated beak. The bugs feed from three to 10 minutes to become engorged and then crawl away unnoticed.
Bedbugs bites
Most bedbug bites are painless at first, but later turn into itchy welts. Unlike flea bites that are mainly around the ankles, bedbug bites are on any area of skin exposed while sleeping. Also, the bites do not have a red spot in the center like flea bites do.
People who don’t realize they have a bedbug infestation may attribute the itching and welts to other causes, such as mosquitoes. To confirm bedbug bites, you must find and identify the bugs themselves.
